Our crack detectors allow you to identify liquid eggs before they reach the packer to avoid contamination and save time avoiding cleaning. Two conductive strips on each transfer are connected to the crack detector. When an egg with a weak shell cracks or leaks onto the transfer as the eggs roll over it, the strips detect moisture and sound an alarm which indicates which transfer is contaminated. The packer operator can then immediately clean the mess rather than spending time trying to salvage contaminated eggs.
Each of the sensors has an individual relay that enables egg belts/conveyors to be automatically turned off when there has been a cracked egg and automatically on again when it has been cleaned and reset. External alarms can also be fitted for noisier packaging areas. We currently have two units – Crack Detector 1 and Crack Detector 4. For the best ease of use, we commend that you place your unit close to the packer.
How It Works?
2 conductive strips on each transfer are connected to the crack detector. When an egg with a weak shell cracks or leaks onto the transfer as eggs are rolling over it, the 2 conductive strips detect the moisture and sound an alarm which indicates which transfer is contaminated. The packer operator can immediately clean the mess, thereby avoiding contaminating many more eggs and reducing the number of seconds, and also saving time - no more time spent trying to salvage contaminated eggs.
Each sensor also has an individual relay which allows egg belts/conveyors to be automatically turned off when there has been a cracked egg, and automatically on again when it has been cleaned and reset.
External alarms can also be fitted if needed for noisier packaging stations.
The crack detector unit is best fitted close to the packer for ease of use.
